Poo Poo Point, seemed appropriate.
As I walked through these woods, I noticed the sounds of the birds chirping and took note of the rushing water below a bridge. Often times, while trail running, I miss these moments. But not this week. This week I slowed down. I wanted to take it all in. I lost a dear friend of mine this week and at the summit, took a moment of silence to honor him, and to pay my respects. I was reminded how precious life is & how grateful I am to live here. While I can't control life, I can control how I react to it, one step at a time, one week at a time.
So while on this gorgeous 7 mile hike, I took this photo of the path ahead - a path that should never taken for granted. I will forever miss you Brian, may you rest in peace until we meet again.
