We are looking for your perspective on innovation in your water utility. The survey questions are focused on understanding your key success factors contributing to adoption of emerging technologies (i.e. enhanced SCADA), how you approached staff training, and how you view the role of innovation within your organization.

SECTION BOARD SENDS NEW BYLAWS TO MEMBERSHIP FOR APPROVAL - At Conference Opening Session
AWWA members are asked to attend the Tacoma Section Conference Opening General Session, Thursday, April 26 at 8am to vote for approval of the new Section Bylaws.

PNWS BOARD UNVEILS NEW SECTION VISION, MISSION AND STRATEGIC PLAN - Looking For Feedback
Your Board of Trustees recently looked at the strategic plan of the Section which has been in place since 2012. Designed to provide direction for the Section for a 3-5 year time period the current plan needed some adjustments to meet the needs of an ever changing membership and Section.
Ideally strategic plans should provide guidance to the Board, Section Committees and Subsections as they prepare their self-appraisals, action plans, and budgets for the coming years.
Recently shared with committee officers at the Fall Committee Officer Training this new guiding document which includes a new Vision and Mission statement for the Section is scheduled for Board approval at the May Trustee Meeting in Tacoma prior to the Section Conference.
It can be found on our website on our Governing Documents page as well as below. Between now and then, members are encouraged to share feedback with the Board of Trustees and any recommended changes or additions.

AWWA TRAINING COMES TO PNWS
Sustainable Water Management Conference
The 2018 AWWA Sustainable Water Management Conference is coming to Seattle March 25-28 and you are invited to attend!
Attendees will gain insights into best practices for managing water resources, source water protection, sustainable utility planning, analyzing the costs and benefits of water conservation and exploring alternative water sources including stormwater and reuse. While at the conference, gain insights into multiple aspects of sustainable water management and Total Water Solutions. This event will also provide you valuable networking opportunities with other water professionals.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Volunteers will receive a complimentary registration for the full conference if they work 8 hours (full day). Volunteers that work 4 hours will get a matching 4-hour complimentary registration.
