The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is in the process of procuring millions of POC tests. Unfortunately, the whole country is backed up in terms of availability of point of care tests. For example, Abbot Binax Now tests are backordered for 15-20 weeks. The state has not yet received the POC tests that they are procuring. It could be two to three weeks before they get them, perhaps sooner.
Here is the form that nursing homes should use for the emergency request of POC tests.
In addition, at the national level leaders at AHCA/NCAL are pushing for the federal
deployment of POC testing supplies to our sector.
