Beloved Adura,
Welcome to the 11th month of the year! Can you believe it, the year is almost gone! Have you taken time to ponder on all of God's goodness towards you and your family? As humans, we focus more on what is not working and ignore the daily miracles that we experience.
King David in 2 Samuel 7 could have been distraught because God said he was not going to be the one to build him a temple and allow that ruin the glorious plans that God had for his lineage, instead David sat down (pondering requires sitting down) and began to deeply reflect on what God has done, what he is doing, and what he has promised to do.
No wonder God found David as a man after his heart, he was a worshipper, always remembering God's past faithfulness to him - remember how he recounted God's help when he was to face Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:37. Take some time this week and reflect on God's faithfulness this year, some many people lost their lives to Covid-19, but you're still here standing in good health.
Pastor E.A. Adeboye once shared that there was a day he was thinking that God has not done enough for him, and he heard God tell him to get a piece of paper and write out some of the things he has done for him, he said after writing for a while, he had to repent of his ingratitude.
Even if you were not offered the job, but that you got selected for an interview is enough reason to thank God, some were not selected at all. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says give thanks in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Ponder on God's past goodness, present blessings, and his promise for a glorious future. As you do, God will step in for you and your testimony will be like of King David in 2 Samuel 22:17 - He will send from on high, take you, and bring you out of many waters.
If you are thoughtful, you will be thankful - ponder on these things!
Join us this Wednesday as we use worship as a weapon of warfare against the enemy.
THINK TANK: How can I thank God while going through a storm?
PRAYER POINT:
Lord, we return back to say thank you, thank you for all your blessings that is too many to count, thank you for many more blessings on the way. Your name alone be highly praised.
