Greetings PORAC LDF members! 

At the end of the year, looking back on 2024, I am proud to recognize several accomplishments that LDF has achieved. LDF celebrated its 50 years of service, and increased membership of more than 150,000 members and over 1,600 associations. While the end of the year sees approximately 8,000 cases pending, and 140 charged criminal cases, financially, LDF has surpassed $70 million in reserves, continuing to strengthen the financial stability of the Fund even while expending a record amount of funds on cases this year. 

This year, we introduced two new LDF Trustees: Alan Kuboyama from Region 1, and Santiago Baltazar from Region 2. We also filled our newly created RAM coordinator position with former LDF Region III Trustee, Chris Coulter. Please join me in congratulating them in their new positions. I also want to remind everyone that important information is disseminated, and significant discussions occur, at your local PORAC Chapter and Region meetings. I encourage all our members to attend these meetings. The locations, dates, and times of the meetings can be found under the Events/Calendar tab on the PORAC website.

In 2023-2024, LDF also had three Trustees retire: Todd Fraizer, DJ Wozniak, and Barry Donelan. I want to personally thank them for their service and wish them well in their retirement and next stage in their lives. Despite this turnover, our current Trustees are committed to continue providing each member with dedication and professionalism.

The end of the year is also a good time to assess your association’s own needs. As a reminder, LDF has several LDF Benefit Plans, including Benefit Plan 6 – SB 2 license decertification coverage, to allow each of our member associations to choose the Plan(s) that best meets the needs of its members. If your association is interested in reviewing its plan enrollment, and to discuss the various options available, please reach out to the administrator’s office or your Region Trustee. Open enrollment, when you can change the Plan in which your association is enrolled, runs from April 2025 - June 2025.
