Hornbacher's donates more than $76,000 to the fight to end hunger
Throughout July, Hornbacher's customers generously donated at the checkout lanes to provide their largest donation yet to the Great Plains Food Bank in the 25-year history of the annual Hornbacher's Check Out Hunger campaign.

The campaign raised $76,268 to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank, which is enough to provide more than 229,000 meals to help feed hungry children, seniors and families across North Dakota and western Minnesota.

Starion Bank builds hunger-fighting capacity with gift of $50,000
Starion Bank has made yet another strong commitment to hunger-relief with a $50,000 donation to the Great Plains Food Bank. The gift will be instrumental in the organization's goal to provide an additional 10 million meals by 2021.

As recognition for their generous gift, Starion Bank will be prominently featured on a cargo van added to the Great Plains Food Bank's fleet that displays the strong commitment and partnership between the two organizations in the fight to end hunger.


Additionally, the Great Plains Food Bank was awarded generous donations from: First Lutheran Church ($15,000), Arby's Foundation Inc. ($10,000) and AT&T ($5,000).
Adopt-A-Block providing additional meals in Bismarck-Mandan
Celebrated with a ribbon-cutting outside South Central High School in Bismarck, The Banquet officially kicked off its Adopt-A-Block program that is helping to fill a critical void to feed hungry children, seniors and families in Bismarck-Mandan.

The program brings a food truck to a pair of local schools two days a week distributing food supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank and Cash Wise.

Volunteer groups give time, money during PACKATHON 2019
During Hunger Action Month, a total of 14 groups and nearly 200 individuals filled the Great Plains Food Bank volunteer repack center to take part in PACKATHON 2019.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: "Running out of things constantly..."
Kristine Christensen says her two adopted grandsons would eat around the clock if she would let them. The 53-year-old has been on disability since 2004 and is constantly running out of food items for the household. Without the assistance of her local food pantry, she states simply, "we would be hungry."
