CHS, Inc., donates $90,126 to the Great Plains Food Bank through annual campaign
Cenex Harvest States (CHS), Inc., has donated $90,126.27 to the Great Plains Food Bank through their annual Harvest for Hunger food, funds and grain drive. The donation is enough to provide more than 270,000 meals.

In total, CHS has now donated more than $980,000 to the Great Plains Food Bank since 2011, which has provided more than 2.9 million meals to help feed those in need.

Great Plains Food Bank elects officers for board of directors
The Great Plains Food Bank has selected officers for its 12-member board of directors. Former North Dakota state legislator  Nancy Johnson will serve as board-chair with  Zack Dawson  (Bell Insurance) serving as chair-elect.

Additionally,  Jasper Schneider  (Northern Municipal Power Agency) has been elected treasurer and  Jessica Edland  (North Dakota Farmers Union) secretary.
The Great Plains Food Bank also welcomed  Stacie Loegering  (Emergency Food Pantry),  Stacy Ackerman  (Wells Fargo) and  Pat Gulbranson  (Family HealthCare) as new members to its board of directors.

HUNGER RELIEF EVENTS AND HEADLINES
Bismarck Larks, Famers Union Insurance team up to strike out hunger
For the second year in a row, the Bismarck Larks and Farmers Union Insurance came together to help feed those in the Bismarck-Mandan community.

Fans lined up recently at four Farmers Union Insurance locations in Bismarck and Mandan with two food non-perishable food items to donate in exchange for an exclusive Larks jersey. All food items benefited the Great Plains Food Bank.

In total, the food drive collected 3,574 pounds of food and raised more than $400, which will provide over 4,100 meals to help those in need.
We Care Wednesday back at Red River Valley Fair
Head to the Red River Valley Fair in West Fargo on Wednesday, July 10, for We Care Wednesday.

Fair goers that bring three non-perishable food items to the fair gates will receive $10 off unlimited ride wristbands.

All donations go to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank.
Grants awarded to Great Plains Food Bank
The Great Plains Food Bank has recently been awarded the following grants and received the following donations: CHS, Inc., ($90,126); Walmart Leading for Transformation ($20,041); Alpha Gamma ($7,500) and Darden Foundation ($7,000).
CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Ashley Brager
Ashley Brager does everything she can to help her 5-year-old son with autism not cry out over hunger. There is no worse sound in the world as far as Ashley is concerned.

While struggling with mental health issues herself, when times are difficult she finds needed resources within a pair of Great Plains Food Bank partner food pantries to help the young family get by.
