Helping fight hunger at N.D. ballparks again in 2019

For the second straight year, baseball teams throughout North Dakota are joining in the fight to end hunger.

It all kicks off Thursday, June 6, where fans can bring non-perishable food items to Corbett Field in Minot for the 7:05 p.m. for a matchup between the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs and Badlands Big Sticks.

All food donations Thursday will benefit the Great Plains Food Bank and will help feed those in need in the Minot area.

Throughout the summer, the Great Plains Food Bank is partnering with Famers Union Insurance to host food drives at games for the Sabre Dogs, Big Sticks, Bismarck Larks and Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks.

Great Plains Food Bank more than doubles number of Youth Summer Meals locations for 2019

Our Youth Summer Meals Program, which offers free lunches to children during the summer months when the school lunch program is not available, have kicked off at more than twice as many locations throughout the state as 2018.

We are proud to now offer the program at locations in Fargo, West Fargo, Hillsboro, Enderlin, Valley City, Jamestown and Bismarck.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Thankful for all that they have

Donna Ricker has been the primary caregiver for her daughter, Jodahna, who is stricken with spastic cerebral palsy, for nearly four decades.

For assistance getting through years of difficult times, the two have utilized the Great Plains Food Bank partner agency network for help. And they have remained thankful for all that they have to this day.
