POTC Award Luncheon

Thank you to everyone who came out on June 7th to honor Gregory (Sandy) Custer at our 2022 Pillars of the Community event. 280 supporters, friends, and family attended the event at Shully’s Watermark which raised $38,000 to be used for grants to the community.  If you weren't able to attend, watch the video below for a full recap of the event!

Community Night at the Chinooks Game

It was a beautiful evening with amazing views along Lake Michigan on June 23 for the community to come out and cheer on the Chinooks when they played the first-place Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at Kapco Park in Mequon. The event was full of great family time and fun baseball. The MTCF was happy to help promote this fundraising event. Thank you to all who purchased tickets and joined us!

The Calming Room at the Frank L. Weyenberg Library Is Now Open

MTCF funded the new Calming Room that was completed this April at the Frank L. Weyenberg Library of Mequon-Thiensville. It is the perfect retreat for overstimulated children and their caregivers, as well as an ideal place to feed babies. The Calming Room provides a soothing space away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Library. This quiet room provides seating and quiet sensory experiences focusing on sight and touch, enhances the experiences of young families, and makes the library a safe and welcoming environment for all.   The mission of the library is to be “a welcoming community center united by Mequon and Thiensville that strives to stimulate imagination and inspire creativity by opening windows to lifelong learning”.  This fits in perfectly with MTCF’s mission to enhance the quality of life in our community. Be sure to stop by and visit the children’s area in the library to check it out!

Community-Wide Off-Road Bike Trail Informational Events This Summer

MTCF is partnering with the M-T Trails Foundation to promote community-wide off-road bike and pedestrian paths. Be sure to look for pop-up tables at the following events this summer in the community! Gathering on the Green concerts this coming weekend July 7-10 Thiensville Village Park Food Truck nights from 5-9 pm on July 14 and August 18 Mequon Craft Beer nights from 4-8 pm on July 22 at Lemke Park, August 26 at Mequon Community Park, and Sept 30 at River Barn Park Stop by to learn about the latest trails being considered around Mequon and Thiensville!
