MTCF funded the new Calming Room that was completed this April at the Frank L. Weyenberg Library of Mequon-Thiensville. It is the perfect retreat for overstimulated children and their caregivers, as well as an ideal place to feed babies.
The Calming Room provides a soothing space away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Library. This quiet room provides seating and quiet sensory experiences focusing on sight and touch, enhances the experiences of young families, and makes the library a safe and welcoming environment for all.
The mission of the library is to be “a welcoming community center united by Mequon and Thiensville that strives to stimulate imagination and inspire creativity by opening windows to lifelong learning”. This fits in perfectly with MTCF’s mission to enhance the quality of life in our community.
Be sure to stop by and visit the children’s area in the library to check it out!
