Power Brothers,
The PMAAA Board has decided to focus our annual appeal on behalf of All Hallows directly. As many of you know, the Power Memorial / All Hallows connection has grown considerably over the last decades from the keeper of our Power records. To date, Power alumni have raised well over $175,000 for scholarship and capital needs and several Power grads are closely involved with the school, with Sean Crowley ’83, the school’s Board Chairman and two other board members: Joe Crowley ’80 and John Mooney ’82.
In addition, Carl Hall ’83 volunteers as the assistant coach for the boys JV basketball team. Due their mission of teaching those in the most economically challenged community in the country, All Hallows faces financial challenges associated with the population they serve, but they continue to keep the mission of Blessed Edmund Rice alive in lifting the poor, immigrant children out of poverty into the middle class. Despite the challenges, they continue to innovate, this year going co-ed and seeing a 300% increase in their open house, and yesterday they signed a “letter of intent” with the world’s largest virtual learning platform, Stride Learning, to bring the essential elements of an Edmund Rice to a national audience.
I’ve witnessed the proud, studious, respectful students at All Hallows, and see in them… the Power spirit. Join me and the Board in contributing to their “Bridge to Tomorrow” campaign as they look to raise $2.5 million by the end of the year. You can learn more about the school and their campaign by reading the attached appeal brochure.
