Loretta Receives
Industry Excellence Award
Recognition of a job well done rarely motivates a passionate professional but is rewarding no matter what position a person holds. Every year, each region of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) recognizes 10 deserving professionals with an Industry Award (such as Star Volunteer, Coaches, and Manager of the Year) but only one INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE AWARD for an outstanding professional impacting the community they serve as well as the sport.

For 2021, Loretta Conway is the recipient of that Industry Excellence Award!
Expansion Project Update

PHASE 1 PERMITTING PROCESS
CS4L’s Building Committee has been meeting with the various City departments involved in issuing construction permits for several months. We have recently decided to bolster our application by engaging an independent consultant to conduct a parking study to nail down exactly how many additional parking spots are needed to handle the increase from 22 to 32 courts for the entire facility. (Thankfully, we are not expected to solve the parking problem for the ballfields.)

Once that number is set, the renegotiated contract with the City that allows us to proceed in phases with an extended fundraising schedule will need two City Council readings before the various planning departments can issue construction permits. We are optimistic that we can start construction by June, but even a July start would allow completion of Phase 1 by late Fall. The glass-half-full view is that, since there is more demand for court use in May/June than in Sep/Oct, a later start even has its advantages.
PHASE 2 DESIGN
We now have publicity materials that describe Phase 2, including a floorplan for the Welcome Center in the pickleball building. Printed copies are also available in the Center’s vestibule.
JUMPSTART PHASE 2 FUNDRAISING WITH "THE POWER OF 3"
With Phase 1 funding in hand, including the recent $350,000 grant from The Daniels Fund and a construction loan, we can now turn to our ultimate goal of having an indoor Pickleball Center. If we can raise $3.6 million in pledges by the end of 2022, we could be playing indoors in a dedicated pickleball facility in late 2023 or early 2024!

Yes, you read that right – INDOOR PICKLEBALL within the next two years!

If you donated to Phase 1,we gratefully ask that you match your donation to Phase 2.
We also invite everyone to jumpstart Phase 2 fundraising by harnessing “The Power of 3” – 300 supporters each donating $3,333.33 will raise $1 million! Pledges may be paid over three years, starting when we are certain that Phase 2 will proceed. Please take a look at our Power of 3 flyer and pledge online today.
As you consider the level of your Phase 2 donation, please keep in mind that Uncle Sam and our great state of Colorado will help you out with tax deductions and credits. Please email us at info@courtsports4life.org for more details.

Thank you all for your continued support!

Pickleball Spring Classic Tournament Registration Ends March 14th!
Time is Running Out!
Please join us on March 19 & 20 for this great tournament! You will need a partner for this competition, but what if you need help finding one? No problem! Register on your own and then email Tournament Director Marcy Pummill at Marcy@SteamboatTennisAndPickleball.com to let her and Sean Pummill know you need help finding someone.

I love hosting tournaments! Seeing everyone having fun, making new friends, and testing themselves really makes me happy. And going home at the end of a long day knowing that I helped make that happen gives me a great sense of satisfaction. But I don't do it alone! I always have a group of volunteers to help me with larger tournaments. They make it all possible!

Help me make our Spring Classic a success! I need 16 volunteers for various easy tasks throughout the tournament March 19th and 20th. I'll also need some referees to ref the medal matches. It's a fun way to give back to your community! Please click on the link below and check it out!

Thank you!
