This month's Board Member Spotlight is on Jeff Kranz. Kranz has served on the board since 2015 and holds the position of Immediate Past President. Kranz is employed by Vantage Apparel and has shared the following fun facts:

Q: At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?
A: Express. Working for an apparel supplier hasn’t slowed down my love of all things clothes.

Q: What was your favorite TV show when growing up?
A: Saved by the Bell. Kelly Kapowski was my first crush.

Q: What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
A:I’m a big craft beer fan, so probably collecting/sharing different bottles with my friends from all my travels.

Q: What is your favorite cereal?
A: Cinnamon Toast Crunch

Q: What’s the strangest talent you have?
A: I’ve got an insane ability to recall random facts and statistics with sports. 

Q: Do you have any strange phobias?
A: Nothing strange, but I can’t stand spiders. 

Q: What, or who, are you a “closet” fan of?
A: I love Lady Gaga.

Q: What’s one thing still left on your bucket list?
A: Going to The Masters golf tournament

Legislative Action Watch – Take Action Today

Resist The Latest Round Of Tariffs

Within the business community, there are legitimate concerns about significant intellectual property and forced technology transfer issues in China. However, placing tariffs on products that are legitimately produced and traded is not the remedy. Last week it was reported in a variety of news outlets that tariffs of up to $60 billion could be proposed. Such tariff treatment would be harmful to the promotional products industry.

The specific list of tariffs has not been released, but it appears that the technology and
telecommunications sectors will be targeted, and other affected products could include a variety of items including toys, apparel, footwear and consumer technology.

The level of tariffs has also not been specified. Although there could be up to 100 products
vulnerable to the tariffs, the White House has not announced whether there will be one global tariff on products from China, or if there will be varying tariff levels depending on the product.

Imposing tariffs on electronics, apparel and other products would raise prices for American
consumers and companies, and would not do much to address the problems that stem from unfair trade practices in China. Effectively, the increased costs would impose a tax on consumers and businesses.
