Greetings PPAM Members! 
 
First of all I would like to thank all of our members, both suppliers and distributors for your support in 2018. We could not do what we do without you all. 
 
Our Tom Show and our Fall Holiday Showcase continues to grow and we appreciate the strong distributor traffic that leads to us having great suppliers showing us all of the new and exciting items the promo world has to offer!
 
I would like to thank PPAI for their support with our ongoing education programs. We look forward to having more educational sessions in 2019.
 
Your board has worked hard this year to host new and fun events and we are excited for the events we have planned for next year. We are focusing on more education and events that will tie into philanthropy. 
 
Our outgoing members are Jeff Kranz and Charles Duggan. They have worked very hard for us for many years and they will be missed. However, I have no doubt you all will still see their smiling faces at upcoming events. 
 
We are welcoming 4 new faces to our board in 2019. Craig Wallace of Sweda, Elizabeth Morrison of Gill, Joe Huber from the Magnet Group and Mandi Rudd, owner of her own company, Brand Energy Marketing. We could not be more excited to have such a great group of incoming board members. Their combined talents and years of experience are sure to elevate PPAMidwest to a new level. 
 
Please also welcome Dave Shultz of Commonsku as your incoming president. 
 
Again, thank you to all of our members, we know you all are trying to spend time with your families, travel, process rush orders, field endless emails, put out fires, find and show what is "new and cool" all while giving your time to PPAMidwest.

In Memoriam: PPAI Hall Of Fame Member Lorraine Hempen, CAS

Lorraine Hempen, CAS, retired executive vice president of the Joseph Lipic Pen Company, former PPAI board member and inductee into the Association's Hall of Fame, passed away on December 15. She was 87.

When Hempen entered the industry, she was one of only four women in the country to sell promotional products. Spending her entire career with one company, she started at the Joseph Lipic Pen Company as a clerk and retired 55 years later in 2002.
Hempen also served on several PPAI committees and was an active member of the St. Louis Advertising Specialty Association—now the Promotional Products Association of the Midwest (PPAMidwest)—holding the treasurer, secretary, vice president and president positions at the regional association.
 
Visitation will be at St Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church 3929 Wilmington Ave, St. Louis, Missouri 63116, 9 – 10 am on Friday, December 21. Mass will be offered at 10 am. Following the mass, there will be a short gravesite ceremony at Resurrection Cemetery 6901 MacKenzie Rd, Saint Louis, Missouri 63123
