Fabricated Metal Products (“FMP”) is a Southeastern Wisconsin-based manufacturer of components and assemblies required by heavy-duty machinery companies. The business was formed in 1952 and has grown into a supplier of choice for leading material handling, waste disposal equipment, heavy-duty truck, and other industrial companies. In addition to being ISO 9001 certified, FMP is also certified by several major OEM’s, earning a preferred supplier designation with one of the world's largest construction & heavy duty equipment manufacturers.


As FMP’s current ownership group began to contemplate transition plans for the business they owned since 1999, the Company’s law firm recommended that the owners have a confidential conversation with Promontory Point Capital. PPC was subsequently engaged to explore strategic alternatives for the business to facilitate the achievement of ownership’s financial & transition goals. PPC’s engagement encompassed preparing materials to market the Company, leading a confidential outreach effort to a targeted group of strategic and financial parties, and soliciting competing offers for the business. After soliciting preliminary offers from multiple interested parties, PPC assisted in negotiating a Letter of Intent with a buyer group comprised of Newel Capital and Optimus Capital Partners. PPC managed the entire engagement, including facilitating all due diligence activities, resulting in another successful Done Deal for our firm.
