The PPMC is proud to have gathered the community input for Project Wichita and developed the community survey released this week. 

Through the first listening phase of Project Wichita, an astounding 3,800+ participants helped identify broad topics the region wants addressed. Now, the online survey - based on these broad topics - will collect additional input on opportunities and attitudes that will help guide a ten-year vision and an action plan for our region. Your voice is important in creating this bold vision. Take the survey today through July 6 at  www.ProjectWichita.org .

It is a rare thing for a project to bring together efforts from city, state and federal governments and a nonprofit. 

The Great Plains Nature Center is the only center of its kind in the country to be comprised of entities from all of these levels: City of Wichita; Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism; the United States Fish and Wildlife Service; and Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center. 

That fact presented a unique opportunity for the PPMC, as last month we completed a comprehensive strategic plan for the Great Plains Nature Center (GPNC) which establishes a vision for the organization, and goals and strategies to accomplish that vision.  We look forward to seeing the GPNC continue to grow!

Win the Day walking classes are up and moving, with anywhere from 50 to 100 participants per day! Neighborhood residents from all around WSU meet twice per week at either Fairmount Park or WSU GoCreate to walk and run together under the enthusiastic direction of fitness instructor Denise Colborn. We are blown away by the awesome participants and volunteers excitedly making healthy choices!
