KACM Winter Conference

Last Thursday, the PPMC hosted the Kansas Association of City & County Managers for their 2018 Winter Conference. The event  brought together leaders in innovation, creative and practical ideas and platforms for discussion on changing organizational culture to one of innovation.

PPMC Assists in Fire Department Promotional Assessments

In December, the Wichita Fire Department made promotions for captain and lieutenant positions, capping a year of work. The PPMC partnered with Oklahoma State University to assist the City in developing the written test for approximately 140 candidates. The PPMC also assisted with the assessment center for 70 candidates, which involved emergency response scenarios and oral interviews.
MiniMPA 2017-18 Completed

MiniMPA held its final session of the 2017-2018 year last month. The sixteen-week program trained public and nonprofit employees in topics including human resource management, government and the local economy, achieving effective governance and community problem solving. Classes were taught by Hugo Wall School professors and local speakers, including Wichita City Manager Robert Layton, Big Brothers Big Sisters COO Brandon Russell, Derby City Manager Kathy Sexton and Derby HR Director Jenny Turner.
