The first ever
We Lead Women in Public Service Conference was a huge success last week, with attendees from all over the state engaging together with dynamic speakers and truly inspiring sessions.
Topeka mayor Michelle De La Isla challenged and uplifted us with her incredible story of how she turned her tough moments into actionable change. Other sessions included discussions of sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace, engaging diverse voices in ways that don't just "check a box," and leading like "the boss with the hot sauce!" We look forward to riding the high from last week's conference right into the
June 14 luncheon at Larkspur!

Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is a national week-long celebration to honor those who serve our communities as federal, state, county and local government employees. The Public Policy & Management Center has
several activities planned to honor and celebrate our partners in public service.

Sunday: Editorial in Wichita Eagle
Look for a special letter to the editor in the Wichita Eagle from PPMC director Misty Bruckner!
Monday: Operation Donut Drop
PPMC staff will divide into special ops teams to infiltrate Wichita's public service arenas with yummy treats of thanks. Operation Donut Drop is our way of thanking our incredible partners who make our work possible throughout the year.
Tuesday: Graduate Assistants Visit Elementary School
Our graduate assistants will share with students at Enders Open Magnet Elementary School about public service and all the different ways it affects their lives. We love that Enders emphasizes important skills like leadership and social responsibility that turn students into responsible, engaged citizens!
Thursday: WSU Project Wichita Focus Group
The PPMC will host a WSU Project Wichita focus group for campus staff, faculty and students to share their vision for the Wichita region's next 10 years. We want to celebrate our public servants right here on campus by gathering their thoughts and ideas.

Friday: Kansas ASPA Panel & Awards Ceremony
Join ASPA Kansas in celebrating Public Service Recognition Week with presentations of the Outstanding Public Service Leader Awards to two public servants who have served through exceptional leadership. Also hear a panel discussion with nonprofit and local government leaders on "Nonprofits Helping Our Community Grow," followed by a tour of the Envision facilities.
