At last week's Engage WSU event, over 75 public servants from all over the region came together to learn from each other about all things public service. Retired city and county manager Hannes Zacharias shared his inspirational advice and lessons from his years in public service. WSU provost Dr. Richard Muma described Wichita State University's role in moving public service forward in the state of Kansas. Speakers from WSU departments and beyond shared their public service work and gave attendees tools for implementing ideas in their communities. Hugo Wall School's series in executive development in public administration, co-hosted by the Public Policy and Management Center, kicked off on Friday with a session from PPMC director Misty Bruckneron effective governance. Attendees will meet on Fridays in fall and spring, hearing lectures and completing coursework to eventually earn a Mini Master's in Public Administration certificate. Learn more about MiniMPA at
