The KACM Winter Conference Feb. 14 at WSU will provide an opportunity to engage and become more informed on various topics that directly impact city/county management. The topics covered will include accounting ethics, social media engagement, human resources recruiting, new transportation modes and more. The featured keynote speaker is Dan Oblinger, an accomplished lawman who has parlayed his skills as a hostage negotiator into engaging and insightful presentations on listening and negotiating as leaders. Leadership from the Ledge is a clear call to action for anyone who wants to lead their team towards excellence.
Registration is still open; cost is $145, with a special student/intern rate of $25.
Project Wichita announces action plans
With community input from more than 249 focus groups and 14,000 survey respondents, Project Wichita has announced its action plan for five focus areas. The WSU PPMC has been involved with facilitating the community engagement aspects of this effort, which was started a year ago by several motivated leaders who wanted community members to have a voice in creating a regional vision.
The five areas of focus are: talent, lifelong learning, strong communities and neighborhoods, economic prosperity and quality of place.
