CCMFOA spring conference

  About 130 city clerks from across Kansas joined the Public Policy and Management Center staff in Manhattan, Kansas, for the City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Associations 69 th  Annual Spring Conference March 13-15. 
  They participated in 16 hours of continuing education with sessions on: STAR Bonds, CDBG Grants, Human Resources, Leadership and Teambuilding. Visiting agencies speaking at the conference were: U.S. Census Bureau, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Alcohol Beverage Control and Kansas Department of Agriculture Food Safety. A reception Thursday evening honored the International Institute of Municipals Clerks Association's incoming president, Lana McPherson from De Soto. 
  The PPMC is proud to work alongside and be part of the work being done by the City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas.
Fall conferences coming up
    
  The Public Policy and Management Center is helping coordinate two fall conferencesthe Workforce Innovation Conference and the Kansas Government Finance Officers Association (KSGFOA) Annual Conference.  
  The second annual Workforce Innovation Conference, hosted by the Kansas Board of Regents and the Kansas Department of Commerce, will be Oct. 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita. Scott Stump, assistant U.S. secretary for career, technical, and adult education, will be a keynote speaker. 
  The 20 th  Annual KSGFOA conference will take place Oct. 9-11 at the Embassy Suites in Olathe. Mike Conduff, The Elim Group and Hannes Zacharias from the University of Kansas School of Public Affairs & Administration, will be the keynotes.
