Riverside County Deputy Isaiah Cordero
End of Watch: December 29, 2022
|
|
Hearts are very heavy in the law enforcement community following the fatal shooting of Riverside County Deputy Isaiah Cordero on Thursday afternoon. The motor deputy pulled over a pickup truck in Jurupa Valley and as he approached the vehicle, the driver shot him, according to Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco. Residents tried to help the 32-year old deputy until paramedics arrived but he was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital.
The suspect died later that day after a "massive manhunt" led to a pursuit that ended with an exchange of gunfire in Norco. He had a long and violent criminal history that included kidnapping, robbery and multiple arrests.
PPOA expresses heartfelt condolences to the Cordero family along with all of our brothers and sisters with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the Riverside Sheriffs' Association.
