PPOA Hosts Fraternal Order of Police Meeting
Feb 15: PPOA hosted the first quarterly meeting of 2020 for the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Los Angeles County Lodge 1. All active PPOA members are FOP Lodge 1 members — this provides PPOA members with workplace legal protections through the FOP Legal Defense Plan. The LA County Lodge is one of 30 lodges in the California State FOP, and PPOA is thankful for the diligent work of State Lodge President (and former PPOA President) Roger Mayberry.

PPOA Teams with ALADS, Deputy DAs and Firefighters to Support Re-Election of LA County District Attorney Jackie Lacey
Feb 18: PPOA, ALADS, the Association of Deputy District Attorneys, and LA County Firefighters Local 1014 stand in unison with District Attorney Jackie Lacey in her bid for re-election on March 3rd. The four public safety unions teamed up to produce the video above, which will be aired on local television channels urging voters to re-elect DA Lacey.  Please click on the video to watch it  and make it a point to share it with friends and family who live in LA County.

PPOA is among a  long list of public safety organizations and elected officials   to endorse Jackie Lacey for District Attorney. All PPOA members in LA County are strongly encouraged to vote for D.A. Lacey and stand with public safety in re-electing her to continue leading the nation's largest local prosecutorial agency.

PPOA Meeting with Dual Track Sergeants
Feb 20: PPOA Board Members Tony Romo and Carlos Marquez accompanied President Rhodes in updating Dual Track sergeants of Custody Division regarding discussions with the Department about options for their future career path. The information exchange is one of two scheduled meetings with those members affected by the difficulties of possibly unwinding the Dual Track process. The next meeting with members is scheduled for February 25, 2020 at 2PM in the PDC Ranch Training Room.

PPOA Meeting with LA County Supervisor
Feb 20: The five elected members of the  LA County Board of Supervisors  serve as the executive and legislative heads of the largest and most complex county government in the nation. In other words, they wield tremendous influence — especially when it comes to the careers and livelihood of PPOA members. On Thursday, President Rhodes met with Supervisor Janice Hahn to address issues of importance to PPOA members. This comes on the heels of separate meetings with Supervisors Barger, Kuehl, Ridley-Thomas and Solis last month. This series of regularly-scheduled meetings with the Supervisors will continue to help PPOA safeguard the rights and interests of our membership.
