BOARD OF EDUCATION November 14, 2022 MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:

ROLL CALL

All board members were present.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Larry Clayton addressed the board regarding concerns with basketball tryouts.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Piedmont Public Schools Board of Education heard the suspension appeal of C.D., a student at Piedmont Public Schools in executive session. After returning to open session, the board voted to uphold the suspension. The board also unanimously approved the employment list in Attachment A of the agenda upon returning to open session.

ACTION ITEMS/CONSENT AGENDA

Piedmont Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved Section 13 of the board policy manual to be effective upon completion of the entire manual.

Board members discussed Staff Class Coverage in lieu of substitutes per the negotiated agreement. Clarification of the following section was discussed: Teachers get paid extra for any coverage that takes their planning period. No action was taken.

There was discussion regarding the facility use policy. No action was taken.

The consent agenda was approved with no changes.

BOARD REPORTS

The board of education discussed the updated 2022 district planning document and was provided a construction update.
