Special Board Meeting News & Updates

Piedmont Public Schools Board of Education voted to accept the Student Transfer Policy capacity revision. The vote was unanimous. 

Per PPS Board of Education policy regarding student transfers, each school site’s grade level capacity shall be approved by the board of education prior to the first day of January, April, July, and October of each school year.

Piedmont Public Schools Board of Education discussed changing school start times. No change was made. Times will remain the same. The schedule is as follows:

Piedmont Early Childhood Center: 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM

All Elementary Sites: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Piedmont Intermediate: 7:50 AM - 2:50 PM

Middle School of Piedmont:  7:50 AM - 2:50 PM

Piedmont High School: 7:50 AM - 2:50 PM

The board convened into executive session to interview and discuss candidates for the vacant board seat #5, and to discuss the employment list. After returning to open session, the board approved the employment list and voted to appoint Mr. Derek Jones as the newest member of the board, filling the seat #5 vacancy. These votes were unanimous.
