While we are deep into our current clOUDi initiative, and this effort will continue through 2022, it is time to consider projects to be taken up when clOUDi moves into its sustainment phase. Keep in mind that clOUDi is a combined maternal and newborn project. Not only that, but clOUDi also has a prenatal component in which we are seeking to improve the care and opportunities for care offered to North Carolina mothers.
PQCNC has always recognized that the best ideas for future work come from those closest to the work. The success of any project also rests on the interest, the enthusiasm and the passion of those actively engaged in performing and supporting the clinical work. Past projects have been identified by patients, payer groups, providers of all types and parents.
So we ask you to consider what area of perinatal care is calling our organization next? You my have thoughts for an initiative that is specific to babies, or to mothers. You may have an idea for a project that combines both maternal and newborn care. This is your opportunity to do two things: point out a gap in our current perinatal care system and briefly describe, in a paragraph, your thought on a project that would address that gap.
Please consider this request. Talk with others in your clinic, or unit, or office and send us your thoughts. We are not asking for exquisite detail, just your very brief reflections on an area of perinatal care that needs targeted attention and quality improvement. An idea and very brief description is all we ask for. The formative stages will come later.
We would request that these submissions arrive by July 1st. We are planning to collate and organize these for presentation at our Annual Meeting scheduled for September 29th where the PQCNC membership will vote on the next adventure we embark on.
Thank you for considering this. Thank you for your commitment to make North Carolina the best place to give birth and be born!
