Dear Team clOUDi,
We had an amazing turnout for last week’s virtual kickoff. Team clOUDi was 126 strong on our call. This was PQCNC’s first ever virtual initiative kickoff. The silver lining of Covid is that it gas required us to think differently about everything we do. This kickoff did not disappoint.
The launch on January 14th was 2 and 1/2 hours. While we did review some critical data related to the severity of maternal substance use disorder and it’s impact on moms and babies, the absolute urgency of this project was made plain by two courageous moms, Susan and Nicole. These women openly discussed their journeys in dealing with substance use disorder and it’s impact on their families. If you had any doubt about why this project needs to happen and be successful, these two warriors will make you a passionate advocate for this work.
In addition Hendree Jones, Melinda Ramage, and Carl Seashore, in facilitating conversation with these incredible women, delivered an overview of maternal substance use disorder and NAS that was engaging, informative and necessary.
If you missed it do not fear. The webinar is online at www.pqcnc.org. Please view it. Please have all team members and staff the opportunity to hear this testimony.
Then let’s saddle up and make North Carolina the best place to give birth and be born!
