What’s a Whiz Kid? To Paul LaFlamme, owner of Centrend, an IT consulting company based in Worcester, it’s somebody who’s good with computers and knows how to resolve computer issues with relative ease. And it’s been Paul’s experience over 20 years in business that most households do not. So he formulated a plan to develop a consumer division of his company—Whiz Kid Support.
And then a pandemic hit.
While the timing may not be right for most ventures, LaFlamme made the decision there was no better time to launch Whiz Kid Support. Particularly with an entire household at home and working online.
Whiz Kid Support offers computer support services to individual home users and to small/independent businesses with three or fewer computers. Most of Whiz Kid Support fixes are done remotely. Onsite or drop off service is available for customers located in the greater Worcester area.
“We created Whiz Kid Support with several people in mind—solopreneurs, students, seniors, home computer users, small business with one or two employees, remote workers,” said LaFlamme. “Our services go far beyond repair as we help customers in buying a new computer and setting it up securely, moving email and other data, backing up data and more.”
