Texas Executive Education, a provider of continuing education programs and part of the University of Texas, and the Society of Decision Professionals (SDP), a global organization dedicated to advancing high-quality decision-making in business and leadership, announced today a strategic collaboration aimed at bringing greater awareness to the power and possibilities of high-quality decision-making skills.
Starting April 1st, every student who graduates from the Decision Quality: Make the Right Choice Every Time course will be automatically certified as an Associate under SDP’s internationally recognized accreditation program. This certification signals foundational competence in structured decision-making, a critical leadership skill in today’s increasingly complex world. It also includes a one-year introductory membership to SDP, granting access to a global community of decision professionals, peer learning, and exclusive professional development resources. This recognition is an added benefit to the high-caliber training available through Texas Executive Education’s curriculum.
Eric Bickel, Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, shared, “We’re proud to offer our executive program participants the opportunity to learn decision quality from best-in-class practitioners. Cultivating this strength is essential for navigating the modern workforce and will serve industry leaders."
Hilda Cherekdjian, SDP Executive Director, stated, “This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter in our long-standing relationship with Texas Executive Education at the University of Texas at Austin. We see this as more than an academic partnership—it’s a shared commitment to shaping leaders who are equipped to think clearly, act confidently, and deliver impact in a complex world.”
Jeremy Walker, SDP President, added, “Decision-making is fundamental to great leadership and achieving outstanding results. This collaboration is the first of many that SDP plans to establish with institutions, consultants, and educators who teach these essential and crucial skills. These skills have always been important, but in today’s climate, it’s more critical than ever.”
SDP is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising decision-making to professional standards across industries. Its membership includes professionals from many S&P 500 companies, top academic institutions, leading consultants, and thought leaders in the decision-making space. SDP operates on a global basis and has a number of local chapters in many regions of the world which foster shared knowledge and experience around the art and science of high-quality decision-making. It offers several certifications aimed at recognizing and verifying the skills of decision-making practitioners.
