The Town of Wake Forest is pleased to announce the relaunch of Engage Wake Forest - a comprehensive community engagement platform where citizens can engage, collaborate, and provide feedback on Town programs and initiatives.

The goal of Engage Wake Forest is to encourage area residents to learn about Town initiatives, ask questions, and participate in the planning process for a variety of projects. Along the way, the Town will post surveys, polls, and forums to generate new ideas and solicit feedback.

Developed by Bang the Table, the interactive platform allows Wake Forest to communicate important messages without the distraction of off-topic or uncivil comments.

Our first online discussion invites residents to share their thoughts and opinions concerning parks and recreation facilities needed most in Wake Forest. Future parks and recreation facilities are included in the Town’s annual Capital Improvements Plan (CIP), but Town officials want to hear from residents concerning the ones they believe are needed most.
Seeking youth & adult recreation instructors

We're recruiting recreation instructors for a variety of youth and adult programming.

We especially need the following program instructors: infant/toddler American Sign Language (ASL); preschool (ages 5 and under) music and Spanish; youth cheerleading; senior dance/Zumba/yoga; adult and youth art and cooking; and REFIT certified. Special Needs yoga/exercise, cooking, art, and life skills/job readiness instructors are also needed.

We offer an array of year-round recreation classes and activities. Many are the result of a local enthusiast expressing a desire to teach a program on their particular topic of interest.

Programs may be offered on a weekly basis or as one-time workshops. Instructors set their own class schedules, title, content and topic subject to the approval of the Recreation Superintendent and dependent upon facility availability.

Anyone who has an idea for a program or an interest in serving as a program instructor is encouraged to contact Kelly Schurtz at 919-435-9559.

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department continues to take all reasonable precautions to best promote the health and safety of our community. Public health is a shared responsibility, and it is one we take very seriously. We are continuing to follow local, state and national public health updates and assessing our role in curbing the spread of COVID-19. We urge participants in all our programs to monitor their own health, stay home if they are sick or not feeling well, wash their hands often, wear a mask, and take appropriate physical distancing measures. These actions are vital to slowing the spread of the virus and protecting the most vulnerable in our community. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
