Family Resource Coordinators, Case Managers, Home Visitors, Support Specialists, etc.

To keep in line with our mission of creating hope, strengthening families, and transforming generations; while providing the most compassionate and person-centered service possible, we have modified our procedures regarding human services professionals placing diaper, clothing and item requests on behalf of clients.

*Parents who utilize human service professionals are now required to place a request whether it’s in person, phone or through email. If they are utilizing human service professionals, the parent can name the person who will be picking up on their behalf. The good news is that this new change to our protocol eliminates the step of professionals and parents having to complete and return client consent forms, prior to pick-up. 

Human Service professionals are also highly encouraged to bring interested parents to PREPARES to help facilitate a warm welcome to services, and to continue sharing about the PREPARES program to parents who otherwise cannot make it to our office during walk-in hours. Our staff and volunteers communicate over email and phone with many parents regularly.

While we understand and deeply appreciate how partner agencies help alleviate barriers some parents face by placing requests on behalf of clients who do not have access to transportation or who work during our walk-in hours, we have noticed that we are missing many opportunities in getting to know parents who utilize these services.

We are thankful for the dedication and hard work of our community partners! Our intention is not to make your jobs harder, but to make stronger connections with parents in the Spokane area. We are also thankful for your support and understanding as we transition to this procedural change to get back to the PREPARES mission statement.
