The Knox County Chamber of Commerce Announces Winners of the 110th Annual Awards

Vincennes, IN -  The Knox County Chamber of Commerce is honored to unveil the recipients of the 110th Annual Awards, a longstanding tradition celebrating excellence, leadership, and service throughout our vibrant community. These outstanding individuals and organizations will be recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Highland Woods Community Center. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, with dinner and the formal awards ceremony beginning at 6:30 PM.


This signature event brings together business leaders, community members, and civic partners for an evening of recognition and celebration. The Annual Awards Dinner showcases the extraordinary achievements that make Knox County a remarkable place to live and work.


The following distinguished honorees will be recognized at the 110th Annual Awards Dinner:


Small Business of the Year: Trent Auto Sales

This award recognizes a Chamber of Commerce member who exemplifies outstanding leadership within their industry while making a meaningful impact on the Knox County community. What began in 1971 as a small, family-run car lot has become a fourth-generation dealership with deep roots in the community. Trent Auto Sales, Inc. has built its reputation on honesty, quality vehicles, and a customer-first approach that has stood the test of time.


Large Business of the Year: Ewing Printing Company

The Large Business of the Year award recognizes a Chamber of Commerce member that has 25 or more employees and sets a high standard of excellence within their industry while making lasting contributions to Knox County. Founded in 1918, Ewing Printing Company has built a century-long legacy of quality craftsmanship, innovation, and trusted service, growing through generations of family leadership and strong community support. Today, the company continues to evolve with modern printing solutions while staying true to its roots—delivering personalized service and excellence made possible by its dedicated employees and loyal customers.


Business Woman of the Year: Cindi Daniels

This prestigious honor recognizes a woman in business who has made significant contributions to the success of her profession while also making a positive impact on her community. Cindi has spent more than 40 years building a legacy of leadership in the banking industry, rooted in hard work, trust, and community connection. As Banking Center Manager at Old National Bank’s Hart Street Branch, she continues to lead with authenticity and care, creating meaningful impact through both her professional role and her ongoing commitment to the community.


Educator of the Year: Angela Holscher

This award honors exceptional educators within Knox County's K-12 public and private school systems. Mrs. Angela Holscher’s career reflects a lifetime of commitment to education, curiosity, and student success. Returning to North Knox after earning her degrees, she transformed her classroom into a place where science is experienced, not just taught—while also opening doors for students through dual credit opportunities and leading highly accomplished academic teams. Through decades of mentorship, leadership, and service, she has influenced generations of students and left an enduring mark on her school and community.


C. James McCormick Community Leader of the Year: Tony Burkhart

Anthony S. Burkhart has built a distinguished career defined by leadership, integrity, and a deep commitment to community. As President of Burkhart Insurance Agency since 1987, he has grown the business into a trusted institution while also lending his expertise to numerous boards and organizations that support regional growth and development. Through decades of professional excellence and civic involvement, he has made a lasting impact both within the insurance industry and across the community he proudly serves.


Public Servant of the Year: Tim and Linda Yochum

This prestigious accolade celebrates the individuals who go above and beyond to protect the well-being of the community. Timothy and Linda Yochum have built a life centered on service, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to others. From Tim’s decades of dedication as a volunteer firefighter and Fire Chief to Linda’s years of caregiving, community support, and leadership alongside him, their impact reaches far beyond any single role. Together, they have made giving back a way of life—strengthening their community through compassion, hard work, and a shared commitment that has spanned more than four decades.


Nonprofit of the Year: First City Music Festival

The Nonprofit of the Year award recognizes exceptional dedication to nonprofit management and the profound impact made on the lives of Knox County residents. First City Music Festival, Inc. has quickly grown into a signature cultural event, driven by a passionate group committed to bringing music, arts, and community together. Since its founding in 2019, the volunteer-led nonprofit has evolved into a nationally recognized, multi-day festival—celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere, strong partnerships, and dedication to enriching the region through live music, education, and meaningful community investment.
