DTRA Awards PAE Contract to Reduce Threats
from Weapons of Mass Destruction
ARLINGTON, Va. July 3, 2018 – PAE received an eight-year prime contract award by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) for the Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract (CTRIC) III IDIQ. PAE will support the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) mission of reducing threats from weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and related materials, technologies, facilities and expertise. PAE is one of six awardees and will compete on task orders worth up to $970M.
“PAE’s CTRIC III team will leverage our extensive chemical, biological, nuclear, radiological and explosive experience and agile ability to engage around the world to accomplish critical missions,” said PAE CEO John Heller. “This agile response capability has been successful in 120+ countries over our 63-year history where we successfully built partner nation capacity in austere, semi-permissive and non-permissive environments.”
PAE will support the CTR mission by working with partner nations to dismantle, destroy, account for, secure, safeguard, detect and prevent the proliferation of WMD and its related materials. More specifically, PAE will compete on task orders for work pertaining to preventing the proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons; facilitating the elimination, safe and secure transportation, and storage of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons among other safety and capability functions.
“PAE’s response to the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and work for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command in developing and implementing blue border security solutions highlights the depth of our expertise across all CTRIC III functional areas,” said PAE Senior Vice President for Defense and Security, and former DTRA Director Ken Myers. “These strengths combined with the team’s expertise and agility provides PAE maximum flexibility to effectively execute the CTR mission.”
“As the only new contractor on the CTRIC III IDIQ, PAE offers agile and affordable execution solutions and a streamlined management approach,” said PAE National Security Solutions Director Andrei Gugiu.
