St. Augustine, FL (September 22, 2022) – Supporting Putnam County, United Way of St. Johns County is seeking all interested parties to realize Department of Housing and Urban Development dollars under the offering from the Continuum of Care. We are seeking groups who wish to work together to seize this opportunity to address unsheltered homelessness and homeless encampments, and it includes funds set aside to address homelessness in rural communities. This is a current and longtime unmet need in the Putnam County community and this opportunity could lead to solutions. The first step is to hear from all interested groups and understand what collaboratively could be accomplished together. Please contact Sheila McCoy, Executive Director for the Palatka Christian Service Center at sheila@heartofputnam.com, no later than Friday, September 30th. This application is due October 20th, so time is of the essence.
United Way’s goal is to bring together individuals, groups and organizations to collaborate and fill unmet needs in the communities we serve. We believe this HUD funding opportunity could be a first step in achieving this goal.

If you or your organization have land, office space, staff or other essentials that could lay the groundwork please contact our partner, Palatka Christian Service Center, Sheila McCoy as soon as possible.
