The convention welcomed more than 2,100 attendees making this convention the largest since 2000. The 2016 convention theme "Accelerate Your Growth and Advancement" was supported by 70 corporate partners and featured 50 CPE sessions, career expo, a two-day Leadership Development Institute, Women of NABA Network (WONN) sessions and luncheon, National Scholarship luncheon, NABA Day of Service, and a host of other convention events activities. The NABA Greater Miami - South Florida Chapter was this year's host chapter.

Honoring and awarding student scholastic achievement has been a cornerstone of NABA. NABA awarded over $95,000 in scholarship money to students. NABA also presented 10 national awards at this year's Awards Dinner & Gala. This year's winners include Nora O'Garro who received the Outstanding Member of the Year Award, Rosalind Danner, CPA, who won the CFO of the Year Award, and Dixon Hughes Goodman, winner of the Corporate Diversity Award.

The convention was the ideal platform to support the NABA motto Lifting As We Climb and NABA's Vision2020 strategic plan with goals in four key areas: Sustainability, Awareness, Action, and Connection.
