The Chamber proudly announces a new community to our Home & Health Shows series: Sun City Festival & Festival Foothills in Buckeye.

The Chamber of Commerce announced today it is moving beyond Sun City, Sun City Grand, Sun City West, and Surprise for its Home & Health Shows. The Chamber is expanding its popular community-based home & health shows to Sun City Festival and Festival Foothills. The first event is scheduled for Oct. 28 from 10 am to 2 pm.

The decision to expand our community building program, Celebrating Community HOME & HEALTH SHOW, was driven by vendor requests, said Raoul Sada, President & CEO of the Surprise Regional Chamber. It was also driven by the need to serve the residents in the area that have very limited access to home and health services, which are 15 miles

away.

About the Festival Communities

Festival in Buckeye has two communities; one is 55+ Active Adult Community offering resort-style living and the, and the other is a Foothills. Festival Foothills is a master-planned community that provides a family-centered hometown atmosphere Foothills. The area is located in one of the fastest job-growth areas in the United States.

The festival communities have limited access to products and services despite being the second largest community in the NW valley, said Mr. Sada. "Currently, residents must travel approximately 15 miles to the city of Surprise for all their shopping needs. The size of the market and its need for goods and services that are unavailable locally make the Festival ideally suited for a community-based home & health show, said Sada. Because the event is in Buckeye, the Chamber received permission from the Buckeye Chamber to plan the event.

Mr. Sada stated that adding the Festival community will allow the Chamber to help businesses connect with residents in five cities in the NW Valley by offering 9 community-based home shows.

A Business Growth & Retention Strategy

Mr. Sada said that "business retention & growth of existing businesses is a critical component of economic development.

Most of us think of economic development as the attraction of new businesses to the area and the encouragement of entrepreneurship. Both of these are important, but there is one more critical component to a sustainable economic development strategy – the retention and growth of existing businesses."

Our Home & Health Shows reflects the Chamber's fervently-held belief that the health of the business community and the health of the larger community where it lives are inseparable, said Sada.
