Millbrook, NY- Before the holiday rush sets in, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County (CCEDC) invites parents and caregivers to take part in its Fall Parent and Support Education (PASE) Intensives through the Family and Consumer Education (FCE) Program.
Raising children in today’s fast-paced world is both rewarding and challenging. CCEDC’s evidence-based workshops are designed to help parents build confidence, reduce stress, and strengthen family communication. These programs provide practical tools to guide, nurture, and motivate children while improving relationships at home, at work, and in the community.

Two Free PASE Events This November:
=> Virtual 2-Day PASE Intensive
Mondays, November 3 & 10, 2025 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Online via Zoom
This interactive two-evening course helps parents and caregivers explore five essential communication tools:
- Encouragement
- “Can Do” Skills
- Decision Making
- Self-Control
- Respecting Feelings
Participants also learn strategies for positive discipline, co-parenting, and stress management. Both sessions must be completed to earn a certificate of completion. A quiet space and internet access are required.
=> In-Person/ Virtual 2-Day PASE Intensive at Generation Hope Youth Clubhouse
Tuesday & Wednesday, November 18–19, 2025 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Generation Hope Youth Clubhouse, 31 Marshall Rd, Suite 3F, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 and via Zoom
Offered in partnership with CAPE of Dutchess County Generation Hope Youth Clubhouse, this hybrid workshop covers the same key communication and parenting tools in a hands-on, supportive setting. Parents are encouraged to bring snacks or a light meal. Attendance at both sessions is required for a certificate of completion. While the event is open to the public, established Generation Hope Youth Clubhouse participants will receive priority registration.

These classes do not qualify for and cannot substitute for the DCFS-mandated course. Maximum enrollment per workshop: 12 participants.
“Parents already come to our workshops with so much wisdom,” says Heather Ohlson, Community Educator and PASE Facilitator. “Our role is to support and strengthen those skills in a collaborative, welcoming space. Small, intentional shifts in behavior can create big changes in a child’s life. These sessions are about connection, not perfection.”
LaQuan Rosario, Community Educator and PASE Facilitator, adds, “Every family’s story is different, but what we all have in common is the desire to feel seen, heard, and supported. These workshops give parents space to reflect, learn, and practice real strategies that make home life calmer and more connected.”
Workshops are free and open to parents and caregivers of children of all ages. Registration is required. Full attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion.
