The Hippodrome Partners with the American Institute of Architects on Film Series
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Hippodrome Theatre is partnering with the Gainesville chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to help show films that will illuminate everyone on the importance of architectural design, and its relevance to our everyday lives.
The Board of AIA Gainesville will provide funding for two to three selected architecture or design related films per year to be shown in the Hippodrome’s Cinema.
“Our mission has always been to create an experience that lasts longer than the run time of a movie”, said Matthew Cugini, Cinema Program Manager at the Hippodrome. “Learning about how architecture affects our lives will be an education that will last a lifetime”.
The first movie in the series is
Brasilia: Life After Design
, premiering August 22, followed by
Bauhaus Spirit: 100 Years of Bauhaus
, showing November 7. The Hippodrome is excited for this new partnership with AIA Gainesville as we continue our mission to bring diverse and important stories to our community.
