Humane Heroes Save Abandoned Cats

Last month, seven cats were abandoned when two Armstrong County residents moved out of state. Both have been charged with neglect and cruelty to animals.

Thanks to community humane partners, all the felines are safe, healthy, spayed/ neutered, vaccinated; and awaiting adoption.

Rebecca Rupert, Zoning/ Code Enforcement Officer for Kittanning Borough coordinated the rescue and worked with Chris Jirak O'Donnell, Humane Police Officer for Armstrong County. Also joining in the effort were:

Pet Connection in Avonmore and the Indiana County Humane Society (ICHS) that made room in their shelters for the felines. The cats are friendly and affectionate and need homes. TINY had an infected eye that needed removed. He has recovered and is fluffier and fatter now. Thanks to Ruth Anne Johnston who fostered Tiny, and Pet Connection that made place for him at their shelter. He is ready for his forever home.

CINDER

is a 2-year-old female fostered by Ruth Ann Johnston, now safe at the Indiana County Humane Society & available for adoption.

TILLIE

is a 3-year-old tabby and is safe at Pet Connection. She is now available for adoption.

GREYSON was fostered by Ruth Ann Johnston and is now residing at the Indiana County Humane Society awaiting adoption.

NUBBY (now known as Tansy) is a 4-year-old tabby Manx waiting at Pet Connection for a loving family.

RUBY was fostered by Ruth Ann Johnston and is awaiting adoption at the Indiana County Humane Society.

CYRUS (now Binx) is a nice 3-year-old male who was rescued by Tina Moorhead-Williams.
