Information Sought on
Deceased Cats
FORD CITY, PA, June 29, 2021 -- The Armstrong County Humane Officer is appealing to the community for information on four deceased cats.

On Sunday, residents living on Hobson Drive, Ford City reportedly found one deceased orange striped cat on their property line.

Monday, an additional two deceased young tabbies were discovered on their driveway.

The three cats were buried.

Later that day, a deceased adult tabby was found in the back yard of the same property.

That is when the residents contacted the Manor Township Police who requested the assistance of Humane Officer Chris O'Donnell.

Upon inspection of the adult tabby, no visible injuries were found. The cat appeared to be well cared for, perhaps someone's pet.

The cat was transported to a veterinarian for a necropsy, however, at this time the cause of death is unknown.

Due to the number of felines found within a 24-hour period of an undetermined cause at the same location, information is being sought to determine if a crime was committed.

"Causing serious bodily injury or the death of an animal is a felony in Pennsylvania which can result in jail time and fines. Animal abuse and neglect in Armstrong County is fully investigated and prosecuted," said O'Donnell.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to email details and their contact information to humaneofficerac@gmail.com.

Humane Officer O'Donnell is affiliated with Orphans of the Storm in Rayburn Township. Program information can be found at www.orphansofthestorm-pa.org.

At present, the humane program is unfunded. Those wishing to support this program may send donations to Orphans of the Storm, PO Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201.
