Lauren Boebert’s Story Shows How Taking a Stand Can Make a Difference

WOODLAND PARK, CO - 09/10/2021

Just under two years ago, an ordinary citizen – wife, mom, and small business owner – decided to stand for truth during a town hall meeting with an anti-Second Amendment presidential candidate.

When Lauren Boebert heard Beto O’Rourke was making a campaign stop in Colorado, she drove three hours to be there. The video of that encounter went viral and launched her into the national spotlight. These days, U.S. Rep. Boebert is quickly becoming one of the most  influential voices in Congress.

Rep. Boebert joined the Truth & Liberty livecast earlier this year to discuss how to get involved in government. The first-term congresswoman from Colorado’s Third District will also appear this Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Truth & Liberty Coalition Conference.

For Boebert, the desire to have an impact is what led her from speaking on local issues in Rifle, Colorado, to national issues in Washington, DC.

“I started showing up to meetings and letting my voice be heard,” said Boebert. “I didn’t always know all the details to speak to, but I knew what I wanted to see and the direction – what I wanted to speak against and for.”

Boebert was not always interested in politics, but after working her way from welfare recipient to small-business owner, she began to be concerned about the values that mattered most to her. She decided to get involved at every opportunity in her own community.

“That is the most important thing to do,” said Boebert of getting involved locally. “And the first thing I would say is show up – that’s exactly what I did.”

In 2020, she ran a grassroots campaign against a five-term incumbent and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Christian conservative.

This weekend, Sept. 10-11, Boebert will join her Republican colleague U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, of Colorado’s Fifth District, at the Truth & Liberty Coalition Conference at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, CO. They will offer updates on their important work in Congress and share how you can have an impact on what is being debated in Washington, DC.

According to Richard Harris, Truth & Liberty coalition executive director, “We are thrilled that Congresswoman Boebert will be speaking at our Conference this weekend. Her life story and bold stance for American ideals is inspirational. She has a powerful message of hope, courage and freedom that the whole nation needs to hear.”
