Orlando, Fla. - July 2, 2019 - The Health Law Firm announced that one of its attorneys, Lance O. Leider, recently won a favorable outcome of a Medicare audit case on behalf of its client, a psychiatrist. The audit was conducted by a Medicare HMO, WellCare Health Plans, Inc., on a psychiatrist seeing Medicare patients and billing them for the services.

After the audit, the Medicare plan demanded a refund of over $40,000 from the physician, alleging that he had been overpaid by this amount. Mr. Leider successfully rebutted the findings of the auditors, resulting in a decision completely in favor of the doctor. The demand for repayment was dismissed entirely.

Mr Leider stated: "A lot of time and effort goes into responses to Medicare and Medicaid audits, but having knowledgeable health law attorneys assist you can mean the difference between having to pay refunds in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and even payment of interest, fines and penalties.
