Orlando, Fla. - April 11, 2019 -
Attorney George F. Indest III, President and Managing Partner of The Health Law Firm, was recently quoted extensively in an article published in the Tampa Bay Times.
The article reported on the ongoing investigation of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital alleged failure to properly report safety issues that lead to at least nine patient deaths from 2016-2017. State regulators in Florida had a chance to set an example with a punishment ranging into the millions of dollars. Instead, they chose to fine the hospital a total of $4,500.
Mr. Indest, who has decades of experience
representing
health care professionals and health facilities, described the amount as "shocking."
Indest is quoting as having told the Tampa Bay Times: “You would think that for the more critical care facilities, where they are doing surgeries and trying to save lives on a daily basis, it would be a lot more serious and the fines would be more serious,”
