MADISON... Wisconsin Women in Government (WWIG), a statewide, bipartisan, non-profit organization, seeks nominations for awards that will recognize two outstanding women for their careers in public service and/or government relations.  Award winners will be recognized at the 2019 WWIG Scholarship & Recognition Gala.

Members of the public are welcome to submit nominations for two awards:

The "Legacy Award" will honor one woman who has made significant professional
contributions throughout her career to local, state and/or national government.

The "Rising Star Award" will honor one woman who has been in her profession for 10  years or less, but has demonstrated excellence by making an extraordinary impact in  her profession relative to her years of service.

Eligible nominees for both awards are those with roles in local, state and/or national government, including but not limited to elected officials, public employees and those interacting with government through the private sector.  Nominations are due by 11:59pm  on March 1, 2019.

Nominees will be notified of their nomination. Award recipients will be notified of their selection and invited to the WWIG 2019 Scholarship & Recognition Gala in Madison, Wisconsin this spring.

"This year marks many milestones for women, and these awards provide a great opportunity to not only recognize the women who came before us, but the Wisconsin women who work everyday to continue to move our state forward through public service," said Deb Erwin, WWIG President.
