Woodland Park School District Board of Education Appoints New Board Director
(WOODLAND PARK, CO - 07/08/2021) -- The Woodland Park School District Board of Education (BOE) recently appointed a new Board Director during their special meeting, which was held on June 30, 2021.
The new Board Director is Amy Wolin for District B, which is an ‘at-large’ area. Wolin steps into the Director position formerly held by Beth Huber, who resigned as President of the BOE in April, 2021.
“The Board is very excited to welcome Amy Wolin. Her heart for kids and commitment to the District and our community, along with her gifts and talents will be a great addition to our Board,” said Nancy Lecky, Board President. “We look forward to serving with her and our new Superintendent, Dr. Mathew Neal, to bring the best public education possible to the children in the Woodland Park School District. We believe the best is yet to come!”
“I am honored, humbled, and grateful to serve our community on the WPSD Re-2 Board of Education,” said Wolin. “I love Woodland Park, my home since 2002, and look forward to serving with utmost transparency and integrity.”
“I am ready to add my positive attitude and “can-do” spirit to this energized BOE. I look forward to helping our District build on our strengths and address our challenges,” Wolin continued. “But enough about me, let’s get to work - I’m excited to listen, learn, and act - for the good of our students, staff, families, stakeholders, and greater community.”
At the July 3, 2021 Special Board Meeting of the BOE, a resolution declaring one (1) Director Vacancy was approved. Gwynne Dawdy-Pekron, Director District C (Columbine Elementary Boundaries), submitted her resignation to the BOE, which was accepted at the Special Board Meeting held on May 26, 2021.
Letters of intent/application are being accepted for Director District C. Please see the WPSD website for more information, www.wpsdk12.org or email Kelly Havin, BOE Secretary at khavin@wpsdk12.org or call (719) 686-2012.
