Let’s talk about how systems of power, privilege and oppression continue to affect marginalized communities; and let's learn how we can practice allyship, solidarity, and self-care throughout these times of uncertainty. 
Kick-off & SCOTUS Title VII Debrief

The weekend will be opened with a Live Land Acknowledgement and culture share with Kanyon CoyoteWoman Sayers-Roods , activist, artist, educator, and Founder of Indian Canyon Two-Spirit Society. Following land acknowledgement, join OFC Director of Family Programs, Cheryl Lala , OFC Interim Executive Director, Sam Ames , and Cathy Sakimura Deputy Director and Family Law Project Director at NCLR, as they discuss the impact of the Supreme Court's recent Title VII decision, as well as what we all need to know regarding employment, family law and parentage rights.

Alchemy con Akemi: Dance Class

Our Family Coalition is excited to announce that Shaneeka "Akemi" Smoot of Loco Bloco will be leading this parent-child interactive movement class, designed to engage the whole family in virtual activity!

This class will be the first class of a 6-week series, taking place every Saturday from 11am-12pm and culminating in a whole class performance on Saturday August, 6th. So if you have fun, come on back for the next five Saturday mornings!

In the series, Akemi will be leading families in a dance course that blends dances from the African Diaspora such as Afrobrazilian, bachata, salsa, hip hop, reggaeton, house, Afro Cuban, creative exploration, choreographic process, and dance composition to guide the students' experession in storytelling with movement. 
2nd Parent Adoption Info Session

Now that courts are slowly reopening, do you have questions about the new adoption procedures, or about the differences between confirmatory, step-parent and second-parent adoption? At this one-hour informational session, Emily Doskow , an attorney with decades of experience working with LGBTQ families, will describe current adoption rules and procedures, answer your questions, and then help you with adoption paperwork.
#LoveWins Family Game Show

Workout for Parents with Race Cooper

This fun, accessible, and beginner friendly work out will be led by the knowledgeable Race Cooper, whose beginner-friendly class recognizes that body movement is so important during this time of activated stress. Join us for an hour and connect with your body's resilience by increasing your endorphins!

Race Cooper brings over 25 years of experience in sport specific training and fitness training NCCP Certified Gymnastics Coach (Level 1), NASM Certified Personal Trainer / Nutritionist.
Arts & Crafts Extravaganza with Ayana Cariaso

OFC staff member Ayana Cariaso shares an hour-long creative space, a fun and healthy environment for families and children to express their emotions while sheltering in place. We'll focus this morning's creativity on queer-inspired art and social justice advocacy.
LGBTQ+ Inclusive School Environment

Join our own OFC Education Team, Rick Oculto and Carla Peña , for an hour of discussion and Q&A. Learn how to better advocate for yourselves and your families as LGBTQ+ parents with kids in San Francisco Bay Area schools. What can you do to ensure LGBTQ+ inclusive virtual classrooms, curricula, and enrichment this Fall?

Rick collaborates with educators and school administrators to create safe and LGBTQ-inclusive schools. An accomplished speaker and presenter, Rick has conducted trainings for thousands of students, educators, and youth workers focusing on diversity, harassment, gender stereotypes, and other LGBTQ issues. Carla has focused their life’s work on LGBTQ+ rights, inclusive education, youth work, and community organizing. The proud child of an immigrant Cuban father and Nuyorican mother, Carla is expressly dedicated to the liberation and prosperity of QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of color) communities.
Zoom Party with DJ B'lo of Queer Qumbia

Join us for a family-friendly queer Zoom party with DJ B'Lo of Queer Qumbia . Queer Qumbia is a project that brings people together around musica tropical – cumbia, merengue, salsa, norteñas, banda. It creates queer- and trans-inclusive, POC-centered dance benefits to raise awareness of issues impacting our communities. When not DJing, B'Lo (Bobbi Lopez) works as Chief of Staff in the office of Oakland City Council President Rebecca Kaplan, having served as Policy Director for SF Supervisor Jane Kim; Bobbi is also an elected California Democratic Party Convention Delegate and an immigrant, union and affordable housing advocate.
