PRIM&R Advocates for NIH Funding
PRIM&R joined a national coalition of more than 500 organizations to send a letter to a bipartisan group of congressional leaders on the House and Senate Appropriations Committee. The June 5 coalition letter shared concerns about the President’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which proposes cutting the NIH budget by $18 billion and “summarily consolidating or eliminating institutes and centers without congressional hearings or public input.” The letter to congressional leaders states, “We respectfully request that you reject any cuts to NIH and instead work with the Administration on a different path forward.”
