The month of May is drawing to a close, and that means one thing to us here at PRISMA: the symphony is coming!

We are thrilled to announce that we have accepted nearly 70 students out of 146 applicants to participate in PRISMA 2014. As indicated by their Skype auditions, the calibre of the 2014 orchestra is very high. We can't wait to see them perform.
Next month, we will have a fundraiser and kickoff for the 2014 season. We hope that you will come out and support the program at our Laughing Oyster fundraiser on June 14th.
The repertoire for this season is stellar, the guest artists magnificent and the students fantastic. You won't want to miss out -- buy tickets and All-Access Passes by clicking here.

We are in high gear with preparations for PRISMA 2014. Pretty soon you will see posters and banners up around town. If you are expecting tickets and membership passes from an online order or an event, we want you to know that these will be distributed to you by the end of the month. We appreciate your support and we know that you'll love the program planned for this year.  If you have any questions regarding ticket or pass orders, please contact Megan Gros at

PRISMA Symphony Cruise Saved
This season, PRISMA's Symphony Cruise was at risk of BC Ferries service cuts. Luckily, after some negotiation, BC Ferries agreed to reinstate the sailing for the Symphony Cruise. Read the whole story in the Globe and Mail here:

"Cuts at BC Ferries have hit a sour note with the organizers of an international music event in Powell River who are concerned about the future of one of its highlight elements - and possibly the event itself."
