March, 2026

Action Alliance Foundation (AAF) provides safe residences for the homeless population recovering from substance abuse, including those struggling with mental health issues. We teach our residents how to create sober lives leading to futures full of hope and promise.

AAF Has a New Set of Wheels

Thanks to the generous support of Samueli Foundation, we’ve added a new 2026 Toyota Tundra to help maintain our residences across Central and North Orange County.

The grant also funded new energy-efficient refrigerators, which enhance our residents’ quality of life. Together, these upgrades help support greater stability and retention in the Action Alliance program.

Thank you, Samueli Foundation, for helping us keep our homes running strong

and our residents supported!

AAF Participates in NOCAA's 28th Annual Women's Banquet Luncheon

AAF was well represented at the 28th Annual Women’s Banquet Luncheon hosted by North Orange County Alcoholics Anonymous (NOCAA) on March 14, with managers, assistant managers, and staff in attendance. AAF has been a sponsor of this event for many years and values its ongoing relationship with NOCAA in our shared mission of supporting community members in their pursuit of lifelong sobriety.

AAF is honored to once again be a part of Help Them Home, a collaborative giving day to overcome homelessness. Thanks to the generosity of community members like you, more than $11,000 was raised in 2025 to benefit AAF's residents. Our goal for 2026 is $12,500. Please save the date for April 22 and watch your email and AAF's social media channels for more information.

AAF Achieves Candid's Platinum Seal of Transparency for Third Consecutive Year

AAF is excited to share that we have earned the Candid Platinum Transparency Seal for 2026 after earning it in both 2024 and 2025. The platinum seal is the highest level of recognition offered by Candid and is awarded to non-profit organizations that meet the highest standards of transparency and accountability.

Fewer than 1% of nonprofit organizations in the U.S. have earned a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid. Candid awards this seal to nonprofits that demonstrate a high level of transparency in their operations, including financial information, strategies, and impact metrics. Earning a Platinum Seal is a significant achievement and a testament to a nonprofit’s commitment to transparency.

By sharing these metrics, AAF is helping the sector move beyond simplistic financial ratios to assess nonprofit progress and impact.

Meet Action Alliance Resident Amanda

At just 11 years old, Amanda began sneaking out to drink and smoke marijuana with friends growing up in South Dakota. Over the next 20 years, her substance abuse escalated to include a wide range of drugs, such as fentanyl.

During this time, Amanda married and had two children, later divorced, and eventually had another child with a boyfriend. That relationship also ended. “Sadly, I chose drugs over my children and over co-parenting them with their fathers,” she reflects honestly.
