"Phase 3.5" Relief Package Signed
Dear Early Learning Provider,

Earlier today, the President signed what is being called, "Phase 3.5 of the CARES Relief Package" in to law. This is the second wave of federal dollars that is earmarked for small businesses.

The State is discussing how to spend the $223 million that was designated to support the child care industry too. As soon as we have an update, we will share it with you.

Phase 3.5 Relief Package Details
Updates
  • President Donald Trump signed the $484 billion “Phase 3.5” emergency interim coronavirus relief package into law today.
  • “Phase 3.5” will provide an additional $310 billion in funds to the PPP.
  • Out of that $310 billion, $30 billion is reserved for community-based lenders, small banks and credit unions, while another $30 billion will go to mid-sized banks and credit unions.
  • There is a separate provision worth $60 billion for economic disaster loans (EIDL).
  • The law will also provide an additional $50 billion for the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) emergency disaster lending program and $10 billion in SBA disaster grants.
Already Applied for PPP or EIDL Funding?
  • If your business has previously applied for the PPP program, you should check with your lender on whether or not reapplication is necessary.
  • Many banks have maintained a queue of applications and were waiting on the SBA approval for processing.
  • The SBA will continue to process EIDL loans and PPP loans once the funds have been allocated.
