A Note from the President
Dear PPRA Members:
It was 2005. I had just started my first "real job" out of college. During my initial week at work, my boss made a wise suggestion: "You should join PPRA." Now, over a decade later, I am honored to serve as president of this supportive, local community. And I am so pleased to count our members as mentors, colleagues, and friends. To me, PPRA is a family. We learn from each other. We encourage one another. This year, I'm looking forward to celebrating everything that makes us unique and building on our many strengths.
Here are a few ways we intend to do that:
  • Develop and effectively communicate the PPRA brand and our value proposition
  • Launch a new website that reflects our brand
  • Provide value through meaningful programs that are useful for members of all experience levels
  • Create meaningful, mutually beneficial mentorship opportunities (Read a personal success story here.)
  • Give back to the community
  • Build a PPRA board pipeline
We have an exciting year ahead, and I sincerely hope that you will be a part of it. Volunteer to serve on a committee. Attend our fantastic programs. Serve as a mentor. Help at a community service event. Encourage others to become members. Regardless of your experience level, there are so many ways to get involved and to become part of the PPRA family. Together, we will help each other advance our skills, our careers, and our networks.
I'm looking forward to it!
Ashley Berke
2016-2017 President
Philadelphia Public Relations Association
